·"Wave of Unrest" sounds like it's probably a mistranslation of oscillation - the purpose of the balance. The part itself is a balance staff.

·Sounds like a translation of the German word “Unruhwelle” (balance staff) that went wrong (Unruhe = unrest & Welle = wave)
