I think the price appears quite reasonable and the condition is OK, for its age. However, the inside of the back-cover reads 166.002, instead.

Kindly advise, whether this is correct.

    Thank-you.

Respectable Member Seamonster.....This is a classic fake that I had reported a day ago. It has the eye-sore stubbies and Seamaster looks like Seanaster. The color of the dial is sick.......and bezel fonts are off.The 9 is closed and the 6 near is also. The Ref# is fabricated where ever you read it - Stay clear of this sad,bad fake.

Thanks for pointing it out to me, it is a fake.

OMG, it is not easy, trying to pick up a factory-original one, nowadays. Little wonder, despite its price, there is no a mad rush for it.

    Thank-you.

If they are, they aren't a regular - or they would have asked. Shame on them if they didn't.

Thanks for directing us to the link. It is indeed informative.

With my poor eye-sight and shallow knowledge about the Seamaster diver watches, I would rather not try my luck on eBay. It is too great a risk to take.

By bringing some of the 'interesting' listings to the attention of our enthusiasts and experts here, I hope one day I will be able to tell the difference between a factory-original piece and a fake or franken.

It is better for me to visit a reputable dealer and pay a little bit more, once I have gathered enough funds or wait for someone from this forum to advertise a 120m (166.073) or 300m (165.024) for sale.

Are there fake or franken 120m (166.073) watches too, by the way?

    Thank-you.

Its not a 40 year old watch, its brand new with a 40 year old movement, but it is real technically, just new replacement parts and wasn't assembled by Omega

It looks like a good one but I'm sure the final price will be double what it is now
