Trying mine out on an Uncle Seiko Beads of Rice bracelet for that vintage diver look. Whaddya think?

Looks perfect!
Could you please confirm that this is the Uncle Seiko Beads of Rise bracelet of the Speedmaster?
Do the end links of the uncle seiko fit the case of the 42mm PO2500?

I 'm looking to find a suitable bracelet for my PO 2500 (42mm) without success...
I also tried the end links of the Forstner Flat Link of the Speedmaster without result....

Thanks for your feedback in advance!

Here is mine...

Yes, it is the regular 20mm US Beads of Rice with stock end links. I originally bought it for my Speedmaster, but we all know how that goes once you start swapping around straps and bracelets. The end links fit perfectly, with just a bit of niggling of the spring bars with your tool to click them in. It’s lighter and more comfortable than the manacle that came with the watch. Here’s an off the wrist shot:

It's beautiful!
I suppose this the same PO 42mm model, right?

Have you tried any other bracelet 20mm of Uncle Seiko?

Yes, it’s a 42. I have Uncle Seiko’s BoR, 1171, Holzer, and GL831.

On the PO, though, it’s only a black NATO, the stock bracelet, the GL831, or now the US/BoR. Here she is on the light and wicked comfy GL831 ~ I highly recommend you throw one of these in if you’re ordering the Beads of Rice.

Weren't there reliability issues with the earlier versions of the movement in these watches?

I believe so, but I understand that if your 2500c didn’t have an issue in the beginning it never will?

The problematic ones were the 2500A and B, but these were never used in the PO.
To my understanding, most of the issues were solved with the drop to 25200 bph in the 2500C. The 2500D changed to the 3 level coaxial escapement that is what was carried on to the 8500 and 8900 series.

Do you hear anyone complaining about which movement variant in their SMP with the same movement?

I’d still aim for a D or C but is not pass on a B at the right price.

By the way... How's the official OEM rubber bracelet for these ? Is it comfy ? Soft ? Worth the price or should I stay clear ?

This thread is becoming my new dangerous corner on OF...

I've been looking for a mint set for a while. They are beautiful watches, and probably my favourite POs in terms of design and wearability.

I think the PO 2500 is indeed analogous to a five digit sub. I purchased a 2200.50.00 back in 2008. I remember trying to decide whether to go for the 42, or the 45.5 (big watches were all the rage then). I chose poorly (45.5). In retrospect, I wish I'd chosen the 42 with the orange bezel. I sure wish Omega would bring the Planet Ocean back to the thinner cased, more modestly styled original.

Another perspective... I bought in to the ”hype” and found a nice example. Was not that impressed - the thin hands and the rather plain dial didnt do it for me so I sold it. It had good dimensions but I couldn’t bond with it...

I absolutely think so. I have a small wrist so I tried on the 39.5mm planet ocean last year. But the gloss dial, white gold numerals and ceramic bezel just make the watch feel so blingy. Especially for such a beefy tool watch in every other aspect. When I found my 2500d it was exactly what I was looking for in an omega diver, and it hasn't stopped running since I got it.

I think it's a real missed opportunity that omega do not have a 42mm diver with this classic case form in their current line up.

With some older and younger sisters...

excellent trio. I’ve been tempted to add a PO 2500 to pair with my SM 300MC. This thread is certainly not helping matters.
