·Does the Coax buyer have a guarantee of authenticity that the Rolex buyer does not in that the Coax 25200 vph is proprietary?
Is the Coax 25,200 movement more difficult to fake than the Rolex 28,800?

··Omega Qualified WatchmakerNot all co-axial movements run at 25,200 A/hr, and many do run at 28,800. The new 3861 Speedmaster movement still runs at 21,600, just like the 861/1861's did.
Having said that, I once had someone ship[ me a couple of PO's to do some work on them, and I had a bad feeling about them when they arrived. I didn't have to open them to confirm, because winding them and putting them on the timing machine did show 28,800, when these specific movements should have been 25,200. The watches were sent back without any work done, and the owner admitted they were fake (after initially assuring me they were genuine) when I told him of my findings.
So I suppose if the watch you are after does actually run at 25,200, this could be one of a series of checks that could be done. I have not come across any fakes that run at the 25,200 rate, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there, or won't be in the future.

·Thanks for your feedback.Its good to know,I was a bit concerned when i saw Watchfinder&Co talking about Omega seamaster(My next purchase) superfakes.He didnt check them with a timegrapher.

··Ash @ ΩFThere are genuine Omega 2500 movements available here and then, and given how cheap AT2500s have become if a nefarious person wanted to they could buy one for ~1500, sell the leftovers and retain the movement for use in a high value knockoff quite profitably. It’s already been happening for years to Calibre 5xx series movements scavenged from cheap Seamasters and use to sell fake SM300 big triangles and the like.
It’s not a stretch to think we could start seeing things like this in the near future, especially given there are some Cal 2500 & 8500 watches that are worth many times more than the potential donors (PO LM for example). So while the relatively high cost and scarcity of 2500 movements have been an aide to authentication thus far I wouldn’t depend on it forever.

While not an 8500 per se, the Calibre 8400 powered Spectre LE is sold out and being scalped on the secondary market even in used condition:

The Bond Aqua Terra Calibre 8508 is also worth a decent amount especially BNIB. The Bond watches are among the few non Speedmaster LEs that tend to hold or gain value.
