Explain why you think it is a fake? It looks OK to me, beaten, wrong crown, dirty all-round but I don't see any big red flags.
The pic is bad though. Wait for the (asleep) experts to chime in 😉

Believe it’s a fake because he bought it from a car boot sale for £15 and just had a cheap strap put on it.

Sounds to good to be true, is all.

Why in the world would you argue with your boss about the authenticity of his watch, unless you know for sure? Doesn't seem the smartest thing to do.

His my boss but we get on very well have plenty of banter.

Well when he tells me he paid £15 from a car boot sale and his had it looked at and been valued as a genuine piece I find it hard to believe

Legit but redial, which retracts from the value
Dial looks original IMO. Polish or replace crystal, replace crown, service if it hasn't had one lately, and it'll be a nice honest watch.

Gold plated, wrong crown, not that much 150-250 quid at most, assuming the movements correct. Which it might not be.

From these very bad pictures IMO it's not a redial but would want to see clear picture to be sure!
