So I bought this piece from an estate sale as soon as I saw the name, it wasnt a ridiculous price so I got it even though I automatically noticed NO logo; I have looked over and over the net and can't find any info at all on whether omega made time pieces without the famous logo. I have 2 pics and I have no problem taking more if it's worth opening and taking some of the movement , I just figured maybe it's knockoff: any info is greatly appreciated thanks ...also the serial is 9964291 if that helps

Old redial. Otherwise most likely a genuine Omega 1940. Cal 23.4

It can´t be a cal. 26.5 because the 26.5 does not have a center second! It is a cal. 23.4 SC

You just said "I don't have a clue what I'm talking about, so I could be totally wrong"

What's the point in making such a statement?

Not sure if I can get it in the pic or not but the hands seem to have a blue metallic glow to them when hit by the light a certain way

So only experts like yourself are allowed to offer an opinion?
    Sorry Sir for speaking.

The Omega lettering looks very wonky, it is just an observation. For all I know they came like that during that period or the crystal is playing tricks with the camera lens.

A correct observation. We've already established that the dial isn't original.

If it's a redial obviously the omega value isn't as high but is it valuable at all? I paid $15 usd for it and a watchmaker estimated $80 to clean, service the mehanics and buff the crystal but I wanted to find out first before I put that much into a watch that may only be worth $60

The movement is worth more than that just for parts. The dial is not attractive at all.

If all you want to do is sell it, I wouldn't waste the money on a service. Make a few bucks (based on the $15 purchase price) and let the buyer determine what to do with it.

However, if you just want to wear it, it's a very nice vintage watch for $95.
