Hi All, Thought the movement looks abit off in this picture. Feel free to comment if you think so too. For objectiveness, I shall not say which part made me think in such a way. Please do point out and see if we have the same view. Thanks.
The rotor looks to be in poor condition, loads of marks on it. Bit weird to me. Looks original though.
Scratches on the rotor are irrelevant unless we can see shots of the caseback, and it's quite possible the rotor bushing or axle has been repaired, but who knows. Rotor colour difference may be due to the way the parts have been cleaned in watch cleaning solutions or home made concoctions. Or the rotor may have been replaced to correct a wobble problem. I could go on, but the variations are endless. I can tell you this though:
The strange looking clamp ring is also to be seen on the 565 in the Ranfft movement archive http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?00&ranfft&&2uswk&Omega_565
Ranfft is a legit source? This could be a useful reference. I was actually looking simply at the engraving “Omega Watch Co Swiss” on the rotor and found it somewhat odd. The letters doesn’t seem very well done. Comments?
