I am surfing in internet and found a Omega watch 2998-6 ? It is a green one. Year 1961

From my beginning knowledge of Omega, I do not know how valuable of Green SpeedMaster is.

Q1. Would someone let me know whether it is a good one, please ?

I think Bezel is a original.
I believe dial is also original one without re-paint.
hour hand and second hand - lume is near gone.
Serial number 186.... (Unfortunately, serial number is masked)

Q2. Compared between black and green speedmaster, which one is less amount on market ? if you have a choice, black or green you prefer ?

Bezel is green color.

 

I have not seen it before; therefore I asked whether someone saw that one before.

 

I am waiting my book "Moonwatch Only: 60 Years of OMEGA Speedmaster" shipping for learn. I hope it got answer within.

 

You have not seen this before, ok. The Bezel has faded to green, this was not an option to choose. Some pay a premium for it, others don't mind. For the moment I personally marvel at your jump from a 145.012 to even more dangerous 2998-territory, with not all expertise required for such a purchase, let alone the slight price difference.

 

You won't find any info on a green bezel in the bookl! It was black 60 years ago and (maybe) aged to that color.
But maybe you should wait for the book and read intensively

I'm going with defective paint too, much like the 'blue', that affects some 105.003-64, mine included.

 

I want to learn more to identify which one is valuable & real one and not ; def. I will not spend money on that 2998 yet.

 

My life well lived 2998-6 is a green fade ... I don’t believe it impacts value. I actually love the color.
