HAHAHA......you forgot your picture! Remember the one you sent me?
Oh my. That is an impressive collection. I can see why the picture was sent privately to another member. I can see a lot of members perhaps becoming jealous of all those fine Invictas. An excellent use of discretion.

They do a hell of a job marketing don’t they. I see them quite often. At least they turned people on to wearing watches. Too many 58mm but you gotta love the floating case they sell the watches in. They seem to be bright yellow which is good for search and rescue to find you

I truly appreciate your positive view of the box. That is a great way to "make lemonade out of lemons." Keep looking for the positive.

It's the same marketing technique that Omega uses for their "high tech" Delrin® (plastic) brake on the Speedmaster...but people won't apply the same level of sneer there because they love Omega. 😀
"Delrin" is a rather old synthetic but has some good properties. It was used to make flak jacket panels during the Korean War, before Kevlar came along. I suspect in this application it will never wear out.

Meh, Invicta gets zero hate from me.

I used to almost exclusively wear 34mm vintage watches thinking bigger tool watches were too big for me. The biggest I had was a Speedy Reduced and never even tried a Speedy Pro on because I knew it would be ridiculously big.

I then bought an Invicta sub knockoff as a complete beater and grew to really like it. Now I mostly wear 40-42mm no worries.

I credit Invicta with opening my mind and I reckon they have turned a bunch of guys into watch fiends over the years.

cheers, Invicta. 👍

Yeah the love tends to sneak up on you, I bought a 42 mm second hand one as a beater as it already had a 2 very minor scratch marks on the glass and I thought who cares if it gets scratched further, I was so wrong I do care lol.

The 42 looked so good I bought a 47 mm one the following week, weighs 8 ounces! but tell you what I love the size, the weight I dont even notice.

One thing you can say about the Invicta line is you can buy a decently made watch, maybe with a Swiss mvt., for a cheap price and if you mess it up, just throw it away and buy another one. Great for vacations.

I'm very familiar with it - as I've stated numerous times I used it for wear strips on conveyors I designed for years. I've bought enough of it to equip every Speedmaster ever made with brakes probably 10 times over. When I look the part up on the Omega Extranet, they drop the marketing pretense...

72208601726V2 | PLASTIC BLOCKING LEVER

Just like they do with the "Hesalite" crystal....

063PW5139 | GLASS PLEXI BLACK RING D34.13 H5.1

In terms of plastics, neither are anything terribly special.

You can always stuff it into a glove and use it as a sap to cold cock someone and steal their much nicer watch.

It could start a new meaning in the English dictionary after you say to the Judge " Your Honour I Invicta'd him"

Meh, Invicta gets zero hate from me.

Unlike some (many(all)) here I don't particularly hate the brand.
In fact I was largely oblivious to the depth and degree to which owners of other "finer" watch varieties seem to loathe them so.

No, my dislike for Invictas is far more personal. I particularly dislike and distrust the watch I bought 10 years ago and wore pretty much daily for most of the past 10 years. I dislike its size, it's shape, its color, its +- random numbers of seconds daily. I dislike how it feels on my wrist and I dislike it's basic nature. I must be a masochist. I find it astounding that- even despite all this, it hadn't occurred to me that I needed a new watch until my stepfather's Omega suddenly appeared and demonstrated quite resoundingly that automatic mechanical watches don't have to suck.

I wonder if "Invicta" might be another prison slang word for a "shank" or "shiv"...

Good Lord, I’m surprised that you can lift your arm with that thing strapped to your wrist.
Wear one on each wrist and you can save thousands a year in gym fees, which you can then spend on a nice watch. It's a smart move.

Will be interesting to see how the Invicta story evolves over the coming years and decades, everyone has to start or in this case restart somewhere.

That was the main reason for my purchase. If the current owner is in it for the long haul he will change his strategy and guide the brand to a more upmarket and quality focus. The owner does not seem short of marketing acumen that's for sure. I will be paying more attention to this brand as the years go by.
Why would he do that? I've not looked at the company accounts but it seems to me he's hit upon a pretty successful business model. No need for him to compete at the top end in order to attract serious collectors - there's a big market out there for people who like bling.
