I think this is more about capturing the feminine market than just the Asian market. Cartier overtaking Omega was mentioned... no doubt that happened due to Cartier's sales to women.

If it really is catered to the Asian market then Omega may have just put itself in a hole seeing as how watch exports to China and HK (largest Asian market) has dropped this year.
