    Hello everyone!

I’ve been lurking a while and wanted to formally say hi and share my latest find. Hoping to get it off for a service and new crystal soon. Cal 551 but unfortunately has the wrong case back (14393) but the price was too good to pass. I’ll post some pics of my other two omegas in a little while.

    Cheers!
    Jeremy

Well, you certainly got straight to the point there.

Don’t worry OP, most of us are a bit more discreet than this.

HAHA no worries, thick skin over here. $250 brought this one home. They're still out there, just need to cast a big enough net to find them. To me this one looks to have enough going right that it was worth the risk (seller had really bad pictures)

Nice, but Why do you think it has the wrong caseback?

My 18k gold 14381 say hi - EofA says delivered to Ireland in jan 1961, and also has Irish hallmarks added 8E30599F-243A-4A36-B62E-D3B8B71CAB35.jpeg in the medallion

    Beautiful watch!!

I am about 99% sure that the 14393 caseback was for the cal 561, but I am also pretty new to the vintage omega world.

You’re absolutely correct in thinking that a 14393 is the case reference for the 561 date model.
I think @Sherbie was wondering if you had had the back off to check the ref number as outwardly they look the same.
either way it’s a great buy for $250 - congrats.

I did have the back off before I sent it out for service. Either way, I'm thrilled with how it came out. Now to find the perfect strap
