I have never owned one of these, but ought'n it have a frame around the date? Looks awfully clean.

That's the standard service replacement dial.

It is missing the date surround though.

    Hi @ulackfocus

I have seen service dials in the past..... will see if I have one... but have not come across one with numbers at 8 , 10 ,12 ,2 ,and 4.... and period correct Seamaster signature....

I have seen service replacement dials with stick markers very plain...

I agree with Dennis on this one. I think the ideal would be for the watchmaker to migrate the solid gold date surround from the old dial. After all, if you ordered this, you likely would be trashing the old dial.

OK, so call me Captain Obvious.

    Hi Bill.

The service dials with Seamaster done with a regular S (not the coathanger style) usually didn't have any numbers, only the stick markers that you mentioned. I think they were made later, probably the mid-60's or later.
