I need to restock the Scotch Stash so I will take your advice and buy a bottle of the Corryvreckan. I don't drink my malt too quickly and I enjoy it a lot so I consider it a good investment. Thanks again!

Well, the Luna has landed. It is on my winder breathing like a healthy 42 year old should. Set, per the instructions, to the proper day, date, month, phase of the moon and time. The chrono sweeps and records the elapsed time as it should and sets itself back to 0 in a nice snap.

Thanks very much for your help, advice and encouragement. I now have the second ELP I have ever owned and a much more handsome version than the modern weirdness that is my avatar.

Bravo, John, well done! A buy from the heart!

Bathe us in pictures! We'd love that!

Oh, and per forum tradition, I call "dibs!" - call me first if you ever decide to let it go.

Wow, this is very exciting. Must be like getting a pristine Speedy 2915-3, or maybe even a 2915-1:thumbsup:

John, if/when you do make it to NYC and you & Lou are up for some company, please shoot me a message. I'd really like to see that watch, and a few others, that you both own. Great addition!

Well, the closest I have come to the 2915 is my 2998. I am really more of a stainless "tool watch" kind of guy. Buying this Luna made my heart beat much faster than buying the Speedy....the Luna cost more and I won't wear it as much but the Speedy will probably stay with me longer.

Very nice John. Lovely 2998, they are just great aren't they. I owe Mike for talking me into getting mine.

I bought this little fella from a normally very tight fisted old watchmaker who needed money to go to the casino. It was missing one of the end pieces of its bracelet and pretty gummed up but after my chrono guy got through with it she wants to go to to moon. I do love this watch more than any speedy I have ever had.

+1 - and btw, LouS, a careful reading of my earlier post will reveal that in my own understated way, I already called dibs on this. You may have a Tier 2 dibs.

Uh-huh. Let's not draw blood until the gentleman tires of the watch.

Just don't have a medical emergency around them while wearing that watch. It'll be a fight to grab the watch, and hopefully the loser will be in decent enough shape to give you mouth to mouth. :p

Being a little late to the party but being an in depth Zenith collector. I find this one interesting. At first I thought it was a conurbation of bits and pieces. Now after seeing the documents, which seem correct and true. I would take the view that a client wanted something different, a little bit of this a little bit of that. So okay, let's say it is correct and honest. This piece meets an academic and historical interest. It proves things were done a bit differently a 'custom piece' was possible then and so on. Occasionally in the collecting world of watches, cars, etc. there were pieces custom tailored to clients wishes. This is not so earth shattering. Ferrari did it, Tiffany did it, and so did other great artisans. However is it aestically interesting/pleasing... no not really. The harmony of the piece is not there. For me there are various things that make a timepiece special. Design is one of them. Beauty another. In my humble opinion this does not speak the language of its original creation. The Luna Lux/Espada in its gold chunky case and band make a statement representing a particular time in fashion and watchmaking , which go hand in hand.
I believe the Zenith Museum should acquire this piece as academically this is where it belongs.

NO! Then one of us can't wear it.

Can we just call you Matt? Or how about Mah? What is the short version of Mahamithra?
