    Available soon at a well-known auction house.
    Described as an 18k, 2852/3, 19j 501, circa 1955

    now, please correct me if I'm wrong - but I don't recall seeing a 2852 with the 'missing text' dial, most commonly associated with 14xxxx references, let alone one with a movt that should have been last issued (approx) pre-1957

    would be interested in the thoughts of the collective

    Edit - after a trawl - I did find one other 2852 with a similar dial (also gold, with gold dial) but no movt details
    Anyone else seen credible versions of this combo or are they both 'outliers'?

    because a thread needs pictures - the watch up for auction

    I dont know, but regardless, i dont like it -its over polished, and why are there minute markers at 9 and 12 o,clock, and no where else where there are hour batons ?

    I appreciate the thoughts - but it's the 19j 501 (replaced with the 20j 501 in '57) combined with the two-line text that's giving me pause for thought
    @X350 XJR 's was a '59 cal 505 - so no problems there
    IIRC the two-line text came in around '58 - so it is just possible that an old movt was placed in a new watch but a jump of two watch movts is less likely
    hence raising the subject for discussion
