Respectable Members Indeed, it is a very interesting article to read. Unfortunately, the watches are all beyond most of us. http://www.smh.com.au/executive-sty...uts-market-gains-to-shame-20121026-28aks.html Thank-you.
Nice article , but don't these folk ever get someone to proof them that knows the subject. "one shortcoming: It lacks a mechanical complication such as a chronometer or stopwatch"
The price range might be higher than we can aspire to, but I wonder how many people here relate to him spending 90% of his salaried income on watches
That could be read as an explaination as to what a chronometer is, to those that don't know. When someone asks me what are all those dials and hands on my watch for, if I say "chronometer" I get a deer in the headlights look, until I follow up with "a stopwatch."
What this shows is that there is clearly a watch bubble. When the Syd Morning Herald is doing articles like this, and there are watch investment funds, there is no doubt we are in the middle of a bubble.
Depends on the watch really, PNs are in a bubble for sure, as are some other Rolex's. Top end Pateks and ultra rare Omegas and Rolex's are just rare watches, no different from rare art really.
The article is describing an explanation as to what a Chronograph is. The word Chronometer is the issue, not word stopwatch.
