Hello and good afternoon, I saw a beautiful (in my eyes) example of a 1940s Omega with 30T2 caliber in UK auction for tomorrow. Curious about opinions from fellow members. I think this dial and case is really attractive.
Without seeing the inside of the case, we cannot know what type of movement is inside. The dial looks original, but the pictures are not high enough resolution to tell for sure. I find that in general, auction descriptions by themselves are not sufficient to determine authenticity or condition. In person examination is critical. Even then, most auction houses are not going to open up a watch for you to see the inside. That’s why I tend to stay away from auctions outside of eBay. At least a buyer has some protection there if things are not what they seem to be. gatorcpa
Looks good enough to take a chance on as long as it is 35mm or bigger. Dial looks original with even patina and will likely have a low serial 30mm movement inside.
I rather like that, interesting rivet bracelet there as well (especially the clasp arrangement) - depending on what it is it could very well pay for the hammer price of the watch.
I like the bracelet as well. I'm curious for how much it will go. If it was 35mm I would take a chance..
It is also on eBay, so I'm not sure that auction is all correct. The photos in the various lots are all different styles... https://www.ebay.com/itm/394081246640?hash=item5bc1129db0:g:lRYAAOSw~9tihRqGPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
