·It might have left the factory with a red back fat font insert but it also left the factory unfaded. Unless you want to pay a ridiculous price for a faded insert get a brand new one for $125 from Rolex directly and keep th old one.

·Why would you even consider putting that thing on your very nice watch? Keep looking for the right insert in good condition.

·I'm not sure how putting a new insert on a basically like-new looking watch with white lume plots and an untouched case completely ruins it.

·@sneer (and anyone else who's interested) -- I just updated the bezel and insert page on gmtmaster1675.com to provide clearer examples of what's period correct and not.
I'd rather get a more expensive insert without any scratches than either of those, but neither are necessarily wrong for your watch.
