Insert 1675 - fake or ori?

I wouldn't put a blue back on a set like that even if it was free. It's as if putting a modern DNN on a gorgeous Pre-Moon Speedy, just wouldn't look right.

Here is my MK2 for reference, judge for yourself.
What kind of date wheel is that?!

It might have left the factory with a red back fat font insert but it also left the factory unfaded. Unless you want to pay a ridiculous price for a faded insert get a brand new one for $125 from Rolex directly and keep th old one.

Why would you even consider putting that thing on your very nice watch? Keep looking for the right insert in good condition.

This way I don’t have to worry about setting the correct date ;-)

Why do that? The beauty of wearing something is to enjoy it, putting a cheap replacement totally takes away from that satisfaction. Don't get me wrong, I don't do gardening with my 1675, but come on, that insert ruins the watch.

I'm not sure how putting a new insert on a basically like-new looking watch with white lume plots and an untouched case completely ruins it.

Can't believe how expensive prices have gotten on them, it's crazy.
