Hello good folk at OF, Can someone please identify this watch? Anything that can give me something to further research on is fine too. I only have these two pictures of front and back. Simple Google search did not reveal much for the watch and I am not very knowledgeable myself. There are numbers on the back (ref maybe?) but I did not find anything. I might be able to get a good deal on this but I wanted to know more information on the watch if possible. I know authenticity might be hard to establish without movt photos - but unfortunately this is all I have. Hit or a miss kind of thing. Thanks!
IMO...early cal 263 Outdoorsman (Certainly the crown is wrong)...The case looks very odd... The dial, movement and hands are worth a punt if you can get a good price.
Cheers! Great photos you posted as well, helps a lot. I was told watch is in 'good' working condition, no service history and being sold as is. Price $300 USD. What are your thoughts? I will start researching on prices now too that I have a starting reference point/name/cal for the watch. Much appreciated Larry!
Honestly that movement dial and handset in that condition are worth the price...Yea the H/M lume is gone ... That dial and second hand are great.
I'm leaning to a "buy it" recco. Short money and the more you look at it the more it all fits together. That dial in that condition is super hard to come by.
I am leaning that way as well. Trying to learn as much about the watch as possible over the internet right now. Do you possibly have a wrist shot of your beautiful cal 263?
Yes looks like a 263, and unusual, perhaps more desirable case. The main question on value is always case size. Is this in the 32 or 34mm range, because larger size worth almost double. Many sellers are not prepared to discern between 2mm in case size with any accuracy. The fact that you have the 24 hr numbers is a plus. If you like the watch, and are prepared to jump without knowing case size, I think you are fine at $300, and perhaps even a bargain if it turns out to be a larger case. Good luck !
Probably a cal. 263. The caseback is over polished, Dial a bit tired, Hands to be relumed. Service most likely necessary. Not so sure that $300 is a bargain. This is mine
I wouldn't mess with the dial, it almost never ends well. Just a service and polish or replace the crystal IMO
