Great watch and heirloom. I think this is what's known as a Series 2 Lemania monopusher. If you google that, you will probably find more information. See if you can post some clearer photos with the hands moved to show all the printing. I think that the engraving on the back of yours indicates Air Force as opposed to Navy, but I'm not a real expert on these.

Here is my white dial Series 2, issued to the Australian navy.

My dad always said it's the face that made it different, I've looked and looked but none the same, a lot similar but not the same.

I think it's because it was only issued to pilots on aircraft carriers there were only so many made, weather it would be classed RAF or Navy i don't know.

I'm not sure what you are seeing that's different. But given the blurry and dark photos, I'm afraid that we really can't evaluate it properly. It's even possible that it was repainted at some point.

You can also try to join the MWR forum, where there are some people that specialize in these particular watches. It's not easy to become a member, but if you reach out to the moderators and are persistent, you can eventually be invited to join.

No T under logo, 12 & 6 have clear centers.

I believe that the T dials refer to tritium and they came later or were replacements.

The printing on your dial is not as fine as some others I have seen, so I’m not sure about it. But with military watches I’ve learned not to jump to conclusions. It would be better to continue researching.

Is quite original. The Dial is a MoD replacement dial. They vary widely in print quality and unfortunately yours is on the lower end of that ... Somebody clumsily did a bad "Hand Painting white" job . Can be removed and with the right kind of Eggshell white ( and thinned with solvent ) paint corrected. Enjoy it!

Have you by any chance put a Geiger counter over the dial?

Looks to me like a poor repaint.

No I believe it’s an early version MOD dial. Same as mine and I’ve seen at least one other.

That's really interesting. Are your hands replacement tritium tubes? Dial should be radium then?

Mine has been mucked around with outside of its military life (I think). The movement SN is apparently early and in the correct range for the ones with this dial type. I guess it was originally destined to be a radium dial but perhaps there were some that weren’t lumed at the time of manufacture and were lumed by the MOD and then used. I think the hands are just wrong, and are regular lume rather than tritium tubes. Crown obviously wrong too. Mine was born as an HS9 and then recategorised as 0552/924-3305.
