Hi, I bought this on a complete whim yesterday and I wondered if anybody could shed some light on the model and value etc. It seems to be running nicely but the value would help me determine whether it's worth having the watch serviced for peace of mind. I tried to open the watch but could only remove the bezel around the (replacement) crystal. I therefore have no idea how to get to the movement as the case-back seems to be a one-piece unit. Here are some photos which actually show the condition to be much worse than that to the naked eye. The yellowing around the dial edge is just reflections of the lume on the markers... it's in very clean condition. I was told it's from 1965... Thanks!
Looks like a Seamaster De Ville 165020 powered by a 552 movement. You need to remove the crown, the bezel, the crystal and tension ring then slide the locking ring counter clock wise to unlock position to take the whole thing out (but you'd better leave it to the ones who know what to do) Nice watch
