Hi All, I need some help/advice on something... I've noticed this Speedy on eBay....http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OMEGA-SP...2162?pt=AU_Watches&hash=item27dc5943f2&_uhb=1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network It's being advertised as a 3510.50. which is a Speedmaster Reduced (Automatic), but it looks to me to be a full-size Speedmaster Professional. Looks legitimate to me, but I'd value everyone's input. If it sells as low as it looks like it might, it could serve as a perfect donor for a project I'm putting together (http://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-861-calibre-revival-project-speedmaster-professional.9196/) Thanks in advance!
If you live in same city and have possibility of face to face checking before transaction then probably it is worth it. Otherwise I follow Ashley suggestion.
Let me know if you get a response from the seller/what the watch is like! I'm in Sydney so can't check it out.
I acquired one of my higher price collection from a low feedback ebay seller (well not 2 but less than 20). A forum member (Darren) helped me to covet and check the watch. Turn out the watch is NOS and everything went smooth. A great experience.
I got a response from the seller: "its the same watch that is in the photos. i made a mistake and now cant edit the info. it actually is automatic winding. had it for 2 years. selling as i need the money for insurance for my car." I thought all Omega Speedmaster Automatics say "automatic" on the dial? Anyone else think it might be a replica...?
Good rule of thumb with Omega (or most Swiss brands): If it doesn't say AUTOMATIC on the dial, it isn't self winding or it's a bad redial. A Speedmaster Professional is a manual wind watch. The Automatic Speedmaster Reduced does NOT say Professional on the dial. This seller has no clue what they have, or it's a scam.
Question: Dear damie_au2013, Would it be possible to view the watch at all. I'm based inMelbourne and would be OK for a meeting in any public place for your security. Would prefer Melb CBD or other area if you like. Regards Jim Answer: currently in NSW on holiday break. accepting via paypal. if not then sorrybudy.
The description I a trade listing lifted from another her lot unrelated to the photos. describes a different watch, shows a box in the photos but says box is damaged in the description. description also talks of watch checked by our watchmaker whereas the seller is clearly a private individual with no watch experience. i am sure the watch does not exist.
