Well, after soaking up a bunch of knowledge from the threads within this sub forum and other published information, I pulled the trigger and purchased this, my first Tri-Compax.
Seller indicates it is running well. DIal, hands, case, crown, and Moon phase disk all look to be correct, and either original, or from the period according to my eye. I believe the dial and moon disk have a nice, warm look, even under what I believe to be the harsh lighting of the advert photos. I do notice the chrono seconds hand being a bit bent, but not a show stopper, as I believe it can be straightened.

I am curious of others opinions of my findings- after the fact, so to speak. What say you?

Looks to be an original example to me, I think it says swiss at the bottom of the dial !

Yes it does to me too. Another advert photo shows the apparent word "Swiss" just a bit clearer.

That bent hand might be correctable. A wise move wound be to service immediately and have your watchmaker sort it.

I'd agree that the chrono seconds had has better than even odds of being straightened. Wondering why and how it got a slight bend in it to start with.

Once it arrives, I'll take a hard look and make that decision on an immediate service or deferring that service for a bit. But I know a crooked seconds had will likely drive me nuts each time I see it.

I was looking at this piece recently and felt like it was one of the better SS around at the moment. I think you did well. I'm curious how it looks in person, I think it might be better in the metal, not the greatest seller photos, be sure to post some pics when it arrives.

The sales photos were apparently taken under relatively harsh lighting. I believe the watch will "warm up" nicely when seen in some natural light.
Will post photos once it lands.

I would guess that the chrono hand is dragging on the dial. That why were it me, I would drive straight from the Fedex office to my watchmaker.

It is probably the tube and pinion under the hands, I had the same problem. Got the watch maker to fabricate new ones and it became fine.

Great looking find. I'm certain the center seconds hand is an easy straighten, these were fairly resilient. If there is rubbing it may be the crystal doesn't have adequate clearance at the sides and is pushing the hand down hence making contact with the dial. Looking forward to seeing more!!
