MIght be a Norman Morris special. They were known to occasionally add text to the dials for the US market. I think gator has one.

EDIT: Oops, I see there's already been a few posts about it.

I want it...::love:: I missed one on ebay a while ago, but here's a similar one.

I think it's one of those US Cased watches, like my Globemaster.

I remember that one, he called it a "ribbed dial" which made me snigger as I'd never imagined a watch dial named after a type of condom

The 2500-3500 sounds rather enthusiastic on this one, as does the 1700 starting bid. He doesn't seem to know what the difference is between solid gold and gold-cap either which is concerning

Nope, I plead innocent of the charges.

I think it's Mr. Snak on WuS that has the Seamaster DeLuxe, similar to the one Kyle posted. These are indeed Norman Morris creations, like the 2nd generation Globemasters.

    Take care,

It's beautiful watch. Being fairly new to this forum, I'd like to know the story behind the watch. How did you acquire it? When? What, if any work has been done to it? etc etc.

I'd always liked Dennis' 2757 De Lux, and at one point I even said to him that I was looking for one and would find one eventually, well turned out it only took a couple of months and this 2627 popped up on eBay, the seller had actually gone searching for info on it and found Dennis' watch as the only other known date-at-6 in the wild and she even quoted him in the ad, along with omegaforums.net as the source, so I initially posted it here thinking someone else would buy it not thinking I'd take it at all, then about four days into it I decided I wanted it and went for it, sale price was about $4,500.

Had the watch shipped directly to Jesse in New York and it was extremely clean when it arrived, case needed some very fine polishing to bring it back to perfect (there were no deep scratches just dullness from age and hairlines and swirls), crystal needed to be buffed out, and the movement needed a service but was in very good condition. After that work it really does look amazing in person, the winding is no joke like a brand new watch off Omega's production line, its keeping inside chronometer time on the wrist and there isn't even a hairline scratch on the case or crown. Its the biggest watch purchase I've ever made at just under $5k including servicing and shipping, and I'll probably spring for a 14K solid gold beads of rice bracelet when a good one pops up to go with it but I'm seriously stoked with it.

Excellent back story. Thanks for sharing what I expect many on the forum to already know. Great story...great watch. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for many years to come. It all puts a big ole :D of approval from me.

Not going to say where (as it's a potential purchase!), but I spotted another SMPP with the date at 3...and it has short hands. :p

There's the AJTT which had short hands, but also a constellation crown and had been messed with, yours and mine both had long, and I THINK that badly redialed 2757 non-stepped also had long

All date at three models have short hands like a Constellation, that's a certainty.

That 3rd watch was the reason for the ΩF custom t-shirt, wasn't it? :p
