Some winters you have to host some very annoyed and impatient Wildlife

UPDATES:
FRIDAY
Tony Orlando, FedEx Brokerage:

Sir I realize this is a major inconvenience, but I need you to fill out this form for customs.
and mail it back to us.

But you already have this information?

Yes Sir, but we need it for Customs.

Who reviews the information for Customs?

I do Sir.

But, like I said, you already have the information and it is just my social security number and address?

Yes Sir.

SATURDAY

Chris at FedEx Brokerage:

Sir I can send you a writable PDF that you can email back to me, how would that be?

Boy Chris, that would be great.

Mr. Roman, I received the form with your SS number and everything is fine now, you can get you package on Monday

Thanks Chris, you guys are the best.

SATURDAY Afternoon. Memphis:
Package Cleared for Monday Delivery.
No movement Saturday night.
SUNDAY , package still cleared
Sunday night, no movement.

Monday Morning
Package in Memphis

Consuela, 1800 GO FEDEX

Yes sir, you package is in Customs.

No, Customs released it 48 hours ago.

Yes, Sir it is on its way to you.

No it is sitting in Memphis.

Well, they don't work on the weekend>

Really? I don't believe that is true, I have had many packages and they move right through the weekend.

Well Sir you your package will come tomorrow.
Would you like to escalate your call to a higher authority?

Yes, Thank you very much.

Central American Call Center,

This is "Brian"
How can I help you Sir

Hi Brian, I am trying to get my packaged delivered today.

Let me check Sir
...................Oh Sir
this is very bad.

What now?

Well it says here you discussed your incoming package with
a Dr. LouS, is that true?

Well yes, but what does that have to do with anything.

And you showed him picture of this "Steel Watch" too, is that correct?

Yes but,

Oh, Sir, this must be the reason for the delay, the workers, they will not touch a LouS Jinx contaminated package. We have to get a Supervisor to put it on the plane.

Can't you put on another plane, I understand you even have same day delivery to my area.

No Sir , we just can not do that.
But I tell what I am going to do. I am going to personally check on the progress of you package all day and send you updates when we move it. This would be very nice, Si?

Hey, thanks Brian you guys are the best.

Monday FedEx Ohio Center

Hi, can you tell me where my package is?

Well Sir, it says it is Memphis.

Yes, I know that but it supposed to be with me.

Well Sir it was just released.

No it was release two days ago.

Well Sir, I'm I am sure you will get it tomorrow.

Monday night, Fedex Ohio Center.

Krissy,

Sir, Guess what?, you package is in Wichita Kansas.

Kansas? what is it doing there?

Sir it was what we call "misdirected"

But you folks have been telling me it is in Customs

Sir, Sometimes "Customs" is just what we say when we don't really know where your package is.

But don't worry, it is going back to Memphis and you will get it tomorrow.

Thanks Krissy, you guys are the best.

Eventually:

Hallelujah!!

Arrival : Omega Museum Edition, 1945 Re-edition Officers Chronograph.
Caliber: 3200
Base Movement: Piguet 1285
Power Reserve: 55 Hours
Jewels: 25 Jewels
Description: Manual Winding Column-Wheel Chronograph, Free Sprung Balance .
This is to be a fun, "wearing" piece, not collectors item.
BTW, Both Mike and Achim have originals of this watch

I have it on a Jurgens pilot band, I think it more appropriate and a better color than the Omega Crocodile.

Nice watch and nice squirrel!

How long did it take to arrive in customs? I got an EMS package that took 10 days from the time it left the other country to show up in customs. 5 days later today, which is 2 weeks and I still haven't received it yet...

Customs for FedEx is more of an inhouse thing. It was in Customs the moment it arrived in the US. It was under FedEx Customs Brokerage Evaluation before the Plane ever got to the US. Most times packages from FedEx, UPS, DHL, are Customs cleared before they even arrive in the US

Says it's an omega 861. Listed for about $2K CAD, what's that, $20 US?

Edit: $2K *is* USD

Cool. For $2K that is one heck of a watch.

Well, if anybody is qualified to do that then Steve is the man 😉

I admire your patience and manners, if 'twas me I think a few F bombs would have peppered my response.

But on second thoughts, that only gets the parcel "misdirected" to Walla Walla Washington, or even Ushuaia ARG.

Beautiful watch, I'm seriously in awe 😲

This is true young Jedi...

All the major logistics companies packages clear customs in the air the only time you is doesn't is if there is paperwork missing etc.

Doing it this way actually saves you money as a 3rd party broker will end up costing you more...

Ive started saving in some cases 1000$ a time on the imports with fedex as apposed to the forwarder we used.

Congrats on the safe arrival!!
