In search of a gold bracelet (real or real looking) for a vintage Seamaster (1950s/1960s)

Hello All,

I'm in seach of a beads of rice bracelet for a vintage Omega Seamast watch that I inherited. It's currently on a 18mm leather strap but I'd love to find an original beads of rice bracelet in gold, or real gold looking, to match the color of the watch.

Please see photos attached.

Thanks, in advance!
Victoria

Given the condition of the watch, I'd suggest searching for a gold-filled bracelet, which will be much more affordable. You just need to find one that isn't too badly worn. Try the internet, eBay, etc., searching for gold filled Omega bracelet and adding the reference 1036 or 1502. There are some on eBay right now. Without knowing the reference of the watch, we can't be sure what endlinks are correct, but #11 or #511 are probably a good bet.

In stainless, I'd expect a good example to sell for $200-$250, but you might have to pay more for a decent gold-filled bracelet, just because they are less common and often in bad shape.

Thank you! I've been looking but the gold often looks cheap and not sure it will match the watch? Do you think my watch is in bad condition? What do you mean the reference of the watch? Can I find that out?

Gold prices are quite high at the moment. I suspect your watch is solid 18k gold based on the hallmark on the backside of the lug. A 18k gold bracelet would likely cost $3000+
I wouldn’t recommend bracelets with lower purity (14k/10k etc) as the color will not be a perfect match and even those bracelets will cost quite a bit.

In meantime you can dress it up with something like brown or black croc pattern

The reference number is the code that is used to refer to the watch. It is engraved inside the case-back. If you have the case opened, take good photos of all numbers inside the case-back and on the movement itself.

From a collector's perspective, your watch has condition issues that affect its value. but from your perspective as an heirloom, there's no need to worry about it. But that is why I didn't recommend a solid gold bracelet, which would likely be worth substantially more than the watch itself.

Thank you! IF I wanted to purchase a real gold one, in 18K, any ideas where please?

Thank you! I'm looking on ebay but don't see any bracelets i 18K matching the reference numbers you mention. I don't mind a gold filled bracelet, I just want anything that looks authentic without any color mismatch...

Not sure why you can't find them. I searched eBay and immediately found these. There are probably more. I haven't looked closely at the listings. You will need to figure out the color issue for yourself. Perhaps you would need to check it in person and then return it if it doesn't match.

May I join this search, as I would like to find one or two real 18k gold Omega bracelets 17 or 18mm lug size!
Any idea for me? Konrad

A seller from Hanoi Vietnam has some gold bracelets and watches for sale.
You can ask him if you want to buy separately.

Do you have the link? Though I prefer a US sale.
