The dial is a definitely improvement - at least comparing blue to blue. I still really like the former black-dialed model.

The rest of the watch I’m still not so keen on. The enlarged Helium Escape Valve feels so unnecessary.

 

Thanks for sharing. It looks nice on the wrist. Have you seen the CK2998 Speedy? I'm curious what it's like in person.

 

That silver dial looks amazing. Wish they had kept some red elements, though.

 

Those waves are awful. Looking at them makes me seasick.

If Omega comes out with either the grey & blue or all blue in a sub-40mm case, I'm buying one.

 

They need to address the bracelet first as it’s too heavy. The dial and bezel are definite improvements, but still not enough to entice me to pull the trigger.

You'd normally expect a comment from me like "This thread is ruined now!" after posting a Speedmaster, but I actually like that watch. Black & Red chronographs have always caught my eye, starting with the Heuer Autavia I used to own. The last one I seriously considered buying was the Christopher Ward Speedhawk. This new Speedy from Omega is pretty sharp though! If it had a little more red (on the bezel maybe, or the subdial hands) it would be better.




..... could you imagine me, of all people, owning or even wearing that? The Watch Gods would strike me with a lightning bolt.

 

I didn't realize how much more prominent the numbers and markers are on the bezel of the new SMP300...I'm not sure I like that element, particularly the triangle around the beet marker.

I see they've switched the wording on the Seamaster 300 from "Master Co-Axial Chronometer" to the new "Co-Axial Master Chronometer". Has the movement also been changed?

 

thanks for the photos. I kinda like the new wave pattern, but the way it hits the perimeter of the dial is poorly resolved, looks pretty sloppy, nothing aligns.
