··Omega Qualified WatchmakerYes, agreed. But also (apologies for very quick thread-drift) the sanctioning authorities have a lot of explaining to do. Anyone who's ever seen AJ (or anyone else of that standard) will be relieved Jakey-boy came through fairly intact...
Other than that, boxing (a dying sport in a lot of ways) got a lot of attention through these fights that it otherwise would not have, and people made a lot of money. Whatever sanctioning decisions were made, they were made to keep money flowing. In general I don't see that changing any time soon, and even if it did they could hold the fight in a location where either sanctioning isn't needed or they can pay them off.
