Just back from 5 days trailering in the Rocky Mountains. While my friends were off photographing landscapes and bike excursions, I was nosing around the camp ground, and came upon a flower called ”Indian Paintbrush”. I used to see them regularly, decades ago. But not so much lately.
Earlier today Eric Peters of Canada won a silver medal at the world archery championships in Germany. He lost the gold medal match by one point to the reining Olympic champion, Mete Gazoz of Turkey.
This is the best finish of any Canadian male in the Olympic recurve division. The previous best was by my friend Crispin Duenas back in 2013 with a bronze medal.
Gazoz is the first archer since 1976 to hold the world and Olympic championships at the same time. That was done then by Darryl Pace of the US.
This result earns Canada one quota sport for the Paris Olympics as well!
