I did a full four week Outward Bound course at Ullswater { https://www.outwardbound.org.uk/ullswater } -- loved my time there, many memories of that. In 1969 the rules were "No alcohol, no smoking". In 1993 I visited again and was taken around by the Warden. There was a cigarette vending machine in the main hallway. I pointed to it and he said "Please. Don't ask."
