I'm in the mood for something different: Breguet or Ulysse Nardin?

And you remove your baseless comment about embossing after the fact. Class act. Have fun on your lifelong trolling expedition. I hope you find happiness and stop.

I don't think you know what trolling means. But I do think it's interesting that you're so defensive. It's not for sale, is it?

Even when UN uses a base movement they often add some clever wrinkle to it ... my 2000 San Marco GMT’s +|- hacking of the “home time window” is pretty neat. True that they don’t have the continuity of an Omega or Rolex - but they make a nice watch overall imo. The build quality on my Maxi Marine is superb.

This is one of the few Ulysee Nardin models I have seen that I like ( mostly because I have not been able to find very many UN's for sale on the sites I frequent )

Here is the Breguet I like the best so far, but again I have not seen very many Breguet's either

The 3800 is a great reference. Managed to find an unused one from 1997 myself a couple of months ago:

I´d highly recommend this one if you are looking for a contemporary Breguet. They can be found reasonably priced on the secondary market.

Ulysse Nardin, on the other hand, has excellent watches as well. Despite being quite big for my taste, I find the Classic Dual Time with enamel dial particularly appealing (not my picture, nor my watch btw):

Whatever particular model you decide to go for, you can´t go wrong with any of these two brands.

That's a very unique dial. What do "T D W" stand for?

Thanks

Wow Oinkitt!!! Nice array of UNs there. Quite a display.

Another 1970 hi-beat ref. P261 of mine with cal. NB11QU (only 1000 made). I like the way UN didn’t “cyclops” the crystal with the way they treated the date magnifier. It’s imbedded in it. ....Anchors away!!

My favorite Breguet is the big date marine. 39mm and the curved lugs fit my wrist perfectly. I don’t own one yet but it’s on my list

The thread reminded me how much I wanted a Marine 5817, so I figured out a way to get it done
