welcome. It is a 14k pink gold shell over stainless. Original honeycomb dial...yes stained...but that doesn't bother me for a 1953 watch. 36mm by 44 mm case. 354 bumper automatic...very clean. 294-9/2657 SC. Watch has been fully serviced and comes with a two year warranty, and from a very reputable dealer 40+ years in business here in LA.

Hello Bill, I guess I forgot to include the picture. The dial looks like a survivor...the movement is very clean...I like the case size...and I have done business with this dealer in the past.

You've convinced me to buy it. This one has a lot of soul...not a safe queen, but a watch that deserves to be worn.
Thanks,

Just email the seller. I accepted his counter offer...so we are both happy. And a good companion for my 18k Constellation and my 1954 Jumbo case 38mm manual wind. Hope this finds you well and happy. Regards, John.

Congrats on your purchase.

I'm curious as to what the reference is on your 1954 Jumbo case 38mm.

John, is the outer edge of the lugs at 4 and 7 worn through? Or is that an optical illusion?

I'm fairly certain that is wear. For a gold shell or cap that is just shy of 70 years old, it tells the same story as the dial...as well as the crown also is showing its age...so all the pieces fit together and seem to confirm each other. Those are the scars of its life. However the movement has been serviced and has a two year warranty...and that is the heart of the watch. I'll pick it up Monday and am looking forward to wearing it.

Hello...2505-8...266 movement...serial number 14300125. The dial is a redial...but it is so nice I don't care.

Hi john and Achim

It does not look like wear from the photo , looks like a reflection … to symmetrical for both lugs to be that close to each other .

An easy look to love.

And another one! This has to stop - my pockets aren't so deep.

Thank you for the remark. I'll report back when it is on my wrist on Monday. I would have loved for it to be solid gold...I'm a gold bug...but this pink gold shell just closed the deal for me.

Thank you. I've been getting into Omegas slowly...only buying what grabs my heart strings. The silver dial jumbo I found on ebay and snatched it up for I think $1500...certainly no more. The new one with the honeycomb dial and rose gold cap is a few hundred more. Certainly it could have been less in a private party sale...but I never begrudge a brick and mortar store their markup and profit. The last thing I want is for them to disappear and for us to only have the internet. As long on the internet expands their ability to reach customers and stay in business, I'm happy. Omega's offer quite a bargain next to comparable Rolexes. I think that is because the overall condition that the average vintage Rolex is found in, is usually better than the Omegas...and that has led to more buyers. Finding an Omega you really want is more of a treasure hunt for me.

i like the waffle dial (not sure this is the right expression). They just add so much character to the dial.

Waffle, honeycomb...there may be a couple of more names for it. Yes I like the character of them, I think they were more common in the 50s and 60s...and then fell out of favor...perhaps they didn't hold up as well to moisture or dirt, and certainly they are harder to print on.
