Well, If we are using IQ as the measurement Then I think the Standard idea is that distribution is like a bell curve.

Still half the people are going to be on the stupid side of the curve like anywhere else in the world.😀

My point is I dont judge a population of 300M people on the actions of its leaders or its media or memes.
F the rest of the world.

it all comes down to jealously of truth, justice, and the American way.

The ones doing the fυcking, could they be California girls please?

You are right the rest of the world loves to hate you guys and they all want to be you. We have absorbed all your culture, so in reality we hate our selves.

Can you please be our Secretary of State?

The horror, the horror, but I imagine it could not be any worse.

100 might be the average, but average intelligence is typically considered from 90-110 afaik. The extreme ends of the Curve make up tiny tiny tiny amounts of the total, with greater than 60% of people falling into the top of the curve.

From google:

if we accept that this is fairly representative the number can't be as high as half our (the US) population being an idiot, even if half fall below 100. But... it's a lot for sure. 😜

Edit edit edit edit: I'm not saying Americans aren't dumb, I just have to leave my house to see plenty examples of that. And it might br closer to half than I'd like to believe. 😵‍💫

It might seem like an obvious answer for us, but lots of people out there don't care about watch brands. Probably everyone knows about Rolex and Casio, but I'm not so sure about any other.

I hoped you dont think I mean half the population are idiots, I just said that half the people are below average intelligence like anywhere else in the world. Besides intelligence or IQ is no valid measure of a human being. There are so many other factors that are so much more important, like compassion, friendliness and social intelligence for instance.

I just dont agree with the notion that Americans are more stupid than other people, I am sorry but you guys are just the same as everyone else in the world, but media would like us to think that Americans are different in that way, maybe because that sells. I to just have to leave my house too to meet utterly stupid Norwegians, but thats how we humans are.

I must say that I have never met the cartoonish American, not in real life and certanly not on this forum. Quite the opposite the few I have met are as diverse as any group I have met, but maybe a bit friendlier and polite.

We could discuss school systems or media, but I think this post was about gameshows😀. So I conclude that I appreciate you and the other Americans on this forum.

btw: In Germany we had this "problem" ( question ) in a quiz-show;

What is the color of the dot on the i in the font 'Arial'?"

The answer options were A: Blue, B: Red, C: Green and D: Black.

Which led to discussions 😁

Alpha? no Beta? no........wish I knew all the Greek letters, and if I did, I bet it would be the last one, so why even bother?
Early on in my freshman year at college I was forced to learn the Greek alphabet as part of the 'hazing' process at a frat. You had to be able to recite the full alphabet three times while holding a lit match from a matchbook (i.e., the short matches). While that is one of many things that helped me quickly conclude how silly frats are, the knowledge helped me a lot in my four years of college as many of the engineering formulas utilized Greek characters. Some of my classmates would be confused between characters, but they were all firmly 'burned; into my brain 😁 41 years later I can still recite the Greek alphabet in about 6 seconds (Speedmaster/ Omega content -- I just timed it)

And why do we use Arabic numerals and that pesky zero? What's up with that?

That we can blame on the Brit’s,
The United States could indeed have adopted the metric system following its independence from Great Britain in 1776. Given the crucial support from France during the American Revolutionary War, it would have been a logical step to embrace the metric system, which was being developed in France around that time.
