....... A specific genre/ fad / style / trend / or simply an general vibe of things, what would it be? I have always felt that UG and vintage Omega has this certain coolness about the forum. Other vintage watches too, like Certina and Eterna. What's yours?
There’s a lot of love for Seikos, and like many on the OF, I’ve a few but my ‘fad’ (and it has been for a while) are 34/35 cm Swiss 1950/1960 mechanical/automatic watches. My current faves are Tissot and Oris
My interest is not unique or original - vintage tool watches are my favorite, specifically dive watches for their practical function. Love the wabi these things pick up when worn and used. Since my daughter was born in 2016, I find that dive watches hold up better to my daily life with their screw down crowns, pusher-less cases, and functional bezels.
Have a mix of all the sub forums Glad the Zenith one is here, starting to admire a lot about vintage Zenith watches. Spend most time just cruising latest.
I’d love to see more Breitling content, or even a forum, if warranted. Sorry if this is a sore point or there is some history I’m unaware of, but the brand seems underrepresented given its history and popularity.
If there were enough interest we would but the company worries me at the moment as CVC, the new owner is an extremely greedy and destructive company which will likely try to squeeze every cent out at the expense of the brand’s heritage. I do love a lot of their vintage pieces though.
It's only since I've been retired for a couple of years that I have found myself entertaining the notion of acquiring a few "essential" tool and dive watches. My first love is dress or "town" watches and there are still more of those on the "want list." Could do with a Polerouter, another IWC or three, another Zenith or two, and perhaps a Vacheron Constantin or Jaeger LeCoultre. I'm just grateful for all the vintage Longines content featured here. Longines and Omega are my two favorites. Gotta be vintage!
