    Hello OF
Looking through my late grandfathers belongings I found two omega watches. I knew he always liked watches and previously found some old casios and timex watches, I never dreamed to come across this find. And both watches will now be serviced and getting new life with my brother and me.
A seamaster deville and an omega quartz.
I need help identifying the quartz watch and finding the right value/value difference between the two watches.
I really love the deville and my brother who is not that into watches where a little indifferent on which he gets. But I dont want to "fool" him.
    Thanks for looking:)

The quartz watch is rather low value. Probably under $200 or less. The steel Seamaster DeVille has some collector value, maybe $300 to $400. It is also going to cost more to service than the quartz watch.

Not sure how I would split this up.

At the end of the day I can't see the £££ value beng relevant as they belonged to your Granfather. Personally I like the look of the Quartz. Go for the one you like. Perhaps you have a picture of your Grandfather wearing one?

If your brother is not into watches, the quartz is the right watch for him. The de ville surely needs a service, which will cost about $200. I think you should polish the crystal on the quartz, put a fresh battery in it, and have your brother pick out a nice strap. You pay for it all, and get him set with a no worries watch and it is all fair. I don't think either of you are interested in the watches for the money, and the values are not that high. You can let him know what others have said here value wise, and my suggestion probably covers the difference about right.

alternatively keep the de ville yourself and then give him the quartz +£100 cash. the trade should then be about even and you can make your own minds up what to do about servicing etc.

given your brother is not that interested in watches he may decide not to service it but instead he may just want to keep it on display in exactly the same condition it left your grandfathers wrist

I ordered a nice handmade leather strap for the quartz and got it a new battery. My brother was happy and so am I.
