I am surprised to see that what I identified as broken gold cap was just a reflection.

I hope that @sande will calm down a bit and perhaps moderate her replies somewhat… I still think the watch is fairly expensive for what it is, but I hope that it will most likely bring the owner a lot of joy 😀

and do you find it normal to give your opinion without having yet another proof? When I tell you that the sheet of paper is white, why do you tell me it's black? so that in the future he will not give his opinion to those who do not know how to analyze a picture ... and especially not to make bad jokes that he was the bulb of a trader in the room ...

So are you a dealer?

I dont think people think clearly before posting on this forum, this is not a free service that you can just expect to be welcomed into graciously. I understand that some context can be lost within a texted sentence however, you need to see past that and focus on the valuable information that is presented before us.

Then... maybe say thank you.

"Please help me check the authenticity of this omega seamaster ref: 166.003 about which I can find nothing on the internet, I want to know if it is worth paying 1000$ for him."

It's real. No I personally dont think it is worth $1000, more like $700 if serviced, $500 if not. The rest is chat and a noob with an over developed sense of entitlement.

I assure you that this is just the light bulb reflection in the room.
As someone that doesn’t need to ask people the value of watches and handling 100’s of these as well as looking at thousands of pictures, that is not a light bulb reflection.

Good reply! Glad to find your are not just "watch" but also "life" knowledgeable! I have a few things to learn from you as I am as cold blooded as you in this situations... 😉

PS: watchwise I'm nothing compared to you but I could bet my life that was a broken gold cap too...

At the risk of kicking a hornets nest, I'm interested in what the explanation could be here.
I don't condone the response of the OP but they have stated forcibly that the gold capping is not broken and provided photos where it does indeed appear to be in tact.

These are only photos after all - and as subject to any illusory effects as any representational image. I'd be more inclined towards Occam's razor myself. The simplest explanation is that it is a reflection - and not a particularly faithful image.

Sande, Love, Time to apologize for your language here. This is not a free valuation service. This is a vintage collectors forum. Any advice, you get here from members, is from experience. If you don't like it, because you came here to satisfy your couriosity with cognitive dissonance after your purchase, you better take with gratitude. You are entitled to nothing here. You earn your experience. Or leave and learn somewhere else. Kind regards. Achim

We know it’s not another watch, because one cannot be found the same on the internet and that’s why we are here to begin with. 😉
