Please help me check the authenticity of this omega seamaster ref: 166.003 about which I can find nothing on the internet, I want to know if it is worth paying 1000$ for him.

Why can't you find anything about the watch? Is Google broken down?

Is this a sales offer?

The watch looks legit and appears to be in good shape.

You should ask if the movement has been serviced.

the same reference does not mean the same model, I am interested in finding the same watch model that can give me an idea of its value and characteristics.i have been searching for a long time on the internet a model exactly like this one but i can't find it, i just didn't see anyone believe me, only similar models but not the same

Seamaster 166.003 is the "model" (actually collection and reference #). Within that model there were many dial configurations. If you're hell-bent on finding the exact dial configuration, you'll need to just keep looking until one pops up.

It's not necessary to find the exact same configuration in order to determine value. That's not how valuation is done. You identify many comparable examples and then make adjustments for features and condition, which requires knowledge and expertise.

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're asking. This is the seller's website. None of those listings have any movement or case back photos, so you're going by the seller's word about the specs. One other thing, if you're thinking about buying any of these watches, know that they are about $1200-$1400 too expensive. https://wannabuyawatch.com/?s=166.003&post_type=product

To sum it up (as I understandt it)

You are looking for a gold capped Seamaster watch with exact this case as shown above.

The reference 166.003 may either be stainless steel or cold capped but the case will always look like the OP speciem.

It may have a 562 or a 565 movement and different hands.

IMO the reference number is not rare in SS but more rare than other Seamasters. The gold capped ones are clearly in the minority.

1000 USD for the OP watch is much money, if its too much this depends on you.

As pointed out already the watch looks legit and in good overall condition, concerning the exterior (dial, hands, case)

Please ask the seller for a picture of the movment and ask him about its service history.

Than come back to discuss that here.

My 2 cents 😀

I agree, apart possibly from the "good overall condition", as I believe there is some evidence of the gold cap having been polished through...

I agree with @Passover and @ConElPueblo about the OP. I got sidetracked with questions about the Chrono24 watch and didn't answer the original question.

ok I understand thank you for the answers, I will go to the watchmaker to remove the watch lid for some pictures, from what I saw when he presented it looks well maintained and had no service done.

I wanted to know if I understood correctly what you said and if my watch is part of the same generation 166.003 as the one from crono 24

Rechecked the case and you are right:

That is absolutely not acceptable for a 1000USD watch!

How do you know this?

All of the pictures are WA pics, except this with the light bulb reflection, which is a screenshot, judging by the image names.

I assume, because he took the photo.

These are WA pics and a screenshot and "he" has a wonderful nail polish...
