Identifying a potential fake crystal

I ordered a signed crystal on ebay out of the UK some weeks back and it has finally arrived to me.

first thing that struck me was that the tension ring is not split, and the edges on the tension ring seem awfully soft, unlike any other omega tension ring I have encountered thus far.

However I only have a few other omega crystals that I have actually pulled out of the case and inspected closely, so before I go after this ebay seller with a dispute, I wanted to ask if anyone else has seen a non split tension ring in an omega crystal?
