This is surely just a basic Omega watch from the 50s. Can anyone tell me something about it. The back is blank.

The inside of the back isn't. That's where the information is. Take it to a watchmaker, have them open it so you can take clear, preferably hi res photos of the case back numbers, as well as the movement and its numbers. Clear, in focus photos of the dial would also help.

The watch doesn't have a model name. It is likely powered by one of the 30mm movements, cal. 28X.

Dial looks nice an original, but the radium was replaced at one time. Very common with these watches.

    Nice looking watch!

Looks familiar...I found a similar face on a 565 mvmnt (corroded) in a Seamaster 166.010 case...or replaced caseback...one hour marker is wrong, Omega gilded came off. Surely yours is what this one was Frankened out of- if it had a date window. Oops. 15316002146732858800341055225870.jpg

Thanks for the replies. I'll take it to a watchmaker.

My father in law got this watch in 1954. To his knowledge nothing has been repaired but then his memory might not be the best these days.
