Identify correct stem Geneve

Hi- I have a circa 1970 geneve with case number 166.041 and calibre 565
I need a new stem (and crown!)- when i measure the old stem it seems to measure around 13-14mm in length and I think it is 0.9mm diameter.
I have seen replacement stems for the 565 movement online but they seem to be 18mm which is definitely longer.

Could anyone give me some advice please?

Thanks!!

Hi George, and welcome to OF.

This is one of mine. I’m a fan of the case, the style and the movement. They’re reliable, accurate and, from your perspective, comparatively easy for regular repairers to work on and source parts for.

I’m a big fan.

I suggest that you just pass the problem on to your repairer. If you haven’t got one, just post where you are and someone will be able to recommend a good, and reasonably priced, repairer.

Stems aren't specific to a case/caliber combination. They generally come "full size" and need to be cut to length to suit the case/crown.
It's an easy task for a watchmaker.
