Can someone help me identify and value this watch? It was my grandfather’s. The back says 18 CT and 750.

Hello Jeff,

To be certain, we need to see the inside of the case back & the movement. But, here are some signs that it may not be real.

- Omega does not stamp the watches on the outside of the case back.
- A solid gold watch should not have the gold plating wearing out

Having said that, It's still your grandfather's watch, and that should be worth more than $$. I wish i had something to remember my grandparents by.. It looks in decent shape, if you can bring the watch to a watchmaker to get the case opened, it may only need a service to get it running.

I'm afraid it's a well known fake from the 1960s

I'm agree with JimInOz. It's fake Omega. Based on the case and dial model I think that it's based on Peseux caliber 320/330

Sadly a fake, but what matters is the emotional value.👍
Thanks guys. You’re absolutely right. Whatever “Choisi watch company” is...

It would have more value now if it had the original dial, but in the 1950s/1960s Omega was seen as higher end, thus many many mid-range watches were re-dialed to look like Omegas and cash in on the deceit.

What are the number/letters on the balance cock?

Choisi was like many other Swiss brands that died during the quartz crisis and has been "resurrected*".

Ed: * Originally the business was founded in 1929 in the region of Bienne, Switzerland. As well as manufacturing their own timepieces they also assembled mechanical movements for many other Swiss watch companies. During WWII they produced in the region of 100,000 military timepieces for the Allied forces and German Wermarch. With the introduction of popular quartz watches in 1970’s exports massively declined. Presently Choisi Suisse is owned by a group of businessmen/watch enthusiasts based in Singapore.

Possibly a US Import Stamp, it would be TZS, but TZS doesn't come up in any lists I have.

Caliber is a Peseux 320/330 as noted by @Temprus and indicated by the "P" shield stamp under the balance. This movement was used in many good quality watches of the time.
