I have a few modern Omegas and a 1966 Constellation pie pan, NOS SM300, but would like to add. I'm attracted to this chronograph but when you search a while I think you start to lose sight of real, reworked and Frankenstein.
So in looking at this one on the market, are the hands wrong or it just me?

路路惟f Jury memberAnytime you find a sharp contrast in condition between gold hands and markers, as in the case of the one shown above, warning bells should go off. And they should be even louder when the hands are cleaner than the markers, as typically there was a higher gold content used in the latter, making the reverse much more likely (and common).

Given that the hands are all good (without lume) they can easily be buffed up/cleaned. Cleaning the dial is playing Russian roulette and best avoided. So the owner MIGHT have chosen to polish the hands but not the dial.
But yes extra care should go into this purchase but definitely not a sure fire sign of aFranken

路looks good to me. 2 choices: get the hands tarnished again. or, if you more risk orientated, take the dial off and dip in jeweller silver cleaning lotion for 1 ( yes, one ...)second. remove and place in cold water. markers should be clean. if not , do it one more time. if still not clean, leave as is. kind regards. achim
