I thought the Diver 300M wasn't for me until...

I acquired this white dial reference. I originally owned the Summer Blue reference and the off-putting things for me were how the printed lettering disappeared on the dial at certain angles, leaving what appeared to be flat spots on the dial, the round indices that looked liked like a cluster of dots, and how the bracelet fell at a sharp angle off the lumpy end link at the lugs.

I was originally scouting to re-acquire a Speedy Racing white dial 9900 when I ran into this diver at a very tempting price. I decided to go for it and after replacing the bracelet for a strap, I'm having a hard time taking it off my wrist. It has rounded out my collection quite nicely and has really tamed down my desire for the Speedy.

Although my Skyfall 41mm is still my grail, this white dial has changed my mind and has proven to me that the modern diver definitely belongs in my collection.

Yeah I'm digging the black and white contrast. It really pops on this watch.

It’s probably the best one-watch solution in the current Omega lineup right now, fantastic watch

If they do the anticipated new version of the SMP300 (no date) in white, I might be unable to resist

I’m hoping they do it in green. Although the contrast of the white especially on the rubber is fantastic

Diver 300 no date…
Ti = Ta for me. Not a fan, not the MoD markings.

Other than that it’s a great looking watch

Love mine. Owned all but one of the 2018 SMP refs previously. This is the one hit the spot, and is going to stay there. I find it to be very comfortable on the strap, and as good a diver all-rounder at a reasonable price as my all-time fave, the original Marine Master. Dresses up and down and is legible at a glance, while having that element of fun and even glamour that makes it such an ace summer watch. And of all the laser-etched dials in the collection, this one seems to me the most impressionistically wave-like, and the least scarred. though a few of the other SE or LE versions def come close.

Here it is on the last day at the lake with its older sibling. Enjoy yours in excellent health.

Yeah if they could do this without the Bond stuff and with regular (not ‘patinated’) lume, I’d be into it. And it seems that’s more or less what the new release will be, albeit probably in steel, not titanium

Yep.

I actually prefer steel to titanium on a diver, unless it's a super-technical design or stone heavyweight like the ProPlof or OG Pelagos.

Easier to deal with everyday, IMO, generally less pricy and if you're a clunky diver like me, easier to sort out after a bash.

The mooted new model does look gorgeous. But the current SMP 300 white dial remains about as good as it gets for a dress diver that's broadly available and not eyewateringly $$$ for what it offers, despite the recent hikes.
