A vintage yellow diver is on my wishlist, although I would prefer a Doxa 300 Divingstar over the Caribbean.

in big brands across the board to boot.

not just your average dial colors either. i'm talking showstoppers. the kind where peeps will buy the watch just because of it.

whether is metallic, special rocks or minerals,..or just plain color experimentation of shades, hues and the painted application.

Call me boring, but I like black dials and white/silver dials. I'm not saying a blue dial here and there isn't great, but if your talking a kaleidoscope I'm out. 馃槈

The color is pretty brilliant with this one. So, it's already happening...

And this one - my dial changes from dark black-green to bright grass green, and anywhere in between, depending on the light.

There鈥檚 nothing new under the sun. This is a chart showing available dials in my 1982 Rolex catalog. The majority of these dials would likely be special order. With the stores carrying only the 6 or 8 basic dials, it might be a surprise to know that there was such choice. Other firms may well have had an extensive palette of dial colours at the time, as well. Might this still be the case with Rolex and others, today? Has anybody checked current watch company catalogs to see whether tremendous variety in colours is available? And will we see those colours in the stores? So if these colours are available today as they have been in the past, is it really new?

About a year ago one could still access a Gisbert vintage watch web page from 2001, with the 2001 prices. It was heart-breaking.

ahh...the old days. gisbert had some great stuff, but if you bought it you paid a crazy number at the time.

most small time watch dealers didn't survive all the incremental price increases the past 20 years...it got to the point where it was much harder to resell and you couldn't buy low enough to replace.

A sturdy field watch with caloric value in a pinch -- plus integrated hair scrunchie for those of us waiting on the barbershops to reopen...

The Citizen Eco drive Chrono I bought recently has a beautiful dial. hard to describe but looks like a rich deep brown glaze over a copper tone base. The coppery highlights compliment the gold markers.
I expect its a molded in plastic coloration since the solar cell is behind the dial.
