I recalled seeing the « Tropic » name on at least one of my straps but could not really understand why they are desirable.

I reached out to @Dan S who I consider one of my watch mentors, among a few others here on OF. Dan gave me his take on Tropic straps.

Seems that I only had one Tropic and since I have sold most of my watches, Dan and I struck a deal and it’s now his. (And it does not smell!).

The strap is nice and thick and only saw a bit of action on my now departed SKX013.

And my main reasons for selling most of my watches? I will keep reading OF threads and find out!

What’s the water resistance rating on that tropic strap? :whistling:
I would think zero. It’s full of holes! It should read WATERRROOP.

That Flightmaster is a tremendous amount of fun to look at . That’s a phrase I have previously only attributed to Kate Blanchett

You’ll have to keep an eye out for a bucket of vintage buckles that we can split for strap making.

This reminds me of the typo on the back of those fake Fortis supercompressors. Happily, I haven't seen one recently.

Congrats on joining the Flightmaster brotherhood!
You can now consider yourself a proper watch enthusiast.

My flighty says G'day to it's bro (yeah it's been here in Oz so long, it's pretty well lost it's Swiss accent for a broad Aussie drawl)
