Gentlemen,

I have found an Omega that I am interested in purchasing. However, I know enough that I don’t know enough.

I am kindly asking for your guidance and suggestions.

Here is the ad and pictures. Asking price is $350.

EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF A RARE OMEGA PILOTS WATCH. BRITISH MILITARY SECOND WORLD WAR PERIOD
AS USED BY THE SPITFIRE PILOTS.

THE DIAL IS IN VERY GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION, WITH BEAUTIFUL BLUE STEEL HANDS

THE CASE IS ORIGINAL OMEGA, STEEL BACK WITH ALL CORRECT 6B PILOTS MILITARY MARKINGS

THE SIZE IS 32.5MM WITHOUT THE WINDER ON 18MM STRAP.

THE MOVEMENT IS ORIGINAL OMEGA IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION.

Can you ask for better pictures? There is what looks to be some plating loss under the lugs. I tried to zoom in on the top side lugs but it was blurry. I’m interested in the hands.... they appear to be original gun metal blue. Not so sure if the crown is a replacement. At the asking price of $350.00 if original, it’s a damn good buy.

My Enicar ATP. I love military watches. Yours is a little safer than mine. Remember, these period watches are SMALL compared to modern day watches.

I asked for better pictures and he is sending them to me now.

I have read many threads here on OF which has made me cautious in purchasing from 3rd parties.

Do your homework!

These are the pictures he sent me.

This is definitely not the same watch. He is trying to scam me.

Can't help you , other than this link to a very similar watch that's already sold (price unknown).

https://www.poshtime.com/490.004/Omega-6B-159-RAF-c.1943.php

If nothing else it gives you something to compare to

$350 sounds too cheap to me, a bargain if it checks out OK.

There's a specialist near me selling three lovely, later 2777 RAF models, for £2.7-3.0k each - perhaps a different kettle of fish for those in the know.

Run. Run far and fast. It might be a good thing to post him on the scammers thread here

Two different watches? The serial numbers appear to me to be the same. Different serial number on the eBay watch, near as I can tell.

Besides the numbers not matching, let’s not forget that the watch was already sold yesterday on eBay and it was being sold to me just now...

I was nearly scammed on Etsy too. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Tom,

Yes, I was just looking at the site and it popped up as a suggested purchase. I clicked on the link and that’s when it all started.

Amazing how fast things escalated.

This is why I immediately contacted the members of OF.

Thanks you!

Etsy is full of Scammers, I wouldn't buy a Omega that is so cheap there. Found a Speedy for 500 there.😗
