Looked up the recipe and its more like spam spread only made from bacon with spices and a bit of bourbon whiskey. You can spread it on biscuits or on scrambled eggs among other foods. If I see it in the store I'll give it a try.
I admit, this is better! (Like many things from Wisconsin!) https://www.nueskes.com/applewood-smoked-bacon/
My dad is a huge fan of Nueske's. He's sent me shipments of their bacon ... it's excellent, although the smoke overtones are a bit strong for my taste.
Yeah, that's definitely personal preference. The Stevens Point Brewery has opened some "Point Burger Bars" where they sell primarily Point beer in the bar and you can build your own burger; Nueske's bacon, a mild cheddar, and Black Angus beef on an English Muffin (I do not like other things on my bacon cheeseburgers) suits me very very well. In their defense, they've probably been making it the same way for generations.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around a maple bacon donut... not ready for prime time and bacon jam
Not to my taste, either. I am a fan of things maple, and the aforementioned Stevens Point Brewery made a maple beer. It was so strong it tasted like drinking syrup from the bottle. It didn't last long.
There was (probably still is) a donut shop in Brooklyn called Dough that had a maple bacon donut. It was the first time I ever had one and I will say it was pretty good. But I'm just a sucker for "regular" donuts.
I've seen people eat Peanut Butter and Bacon sandwiches, and mix bacon grease with Peanut Butter. Actually smells great. I may try it myself one day. This Bacon Jam may go well on PB.
Mmmmmmm...did someone say...... DONUTS!!!! Specifically, MAPLE-BACON DONUTS!!! From Jack's Donuts, Thousand Oaks CA - YUUUM
Oh Lord.... now I'm day dreaming of Bob's Donuts in San Francisco and Randy's in Los Angeles ... darn
I gave my wife this sign a few years ago, it sits on the windowsill in our wine/dining room. You have to have priorities, even with bacon!
