It is actually a tritium dial incidentally, as there are no radium 105.002s, the lack of Ts doesn't necessarily mean the presence of radium
Can you explain me how do you know is not radium?, yours looks more like tritium, but this actually looks a little more brown.

Like many things with these old ones, I bet there's a lot of variation.. I thought radium as well as its definitely browner but I'm no expert.

If there's a way to tell, that would be interesting to know.

Yes, there's a way to tell if you can get access to a geiger counter.

Bring it over, and I will tell you.

I just acquired a very sensitive Geiger counter! I'll be posting a thread with readings from some of my watches... very interesting results, let me tell you!

I'm almost certain yours is Tritium, however. I'm pretty sure Omega stopped using Radium a few years before 1962, although my 1958 Seamaster DOES 'light up' my counter!😲

Edit: I just double checked my MWO Book, and Tritium OR Radium was used in '62. Perhaps 105.002 was the first use of Tritium on the Speedies, and the 2993-3-62 was the last Radium? There's probably someone here who knows even more than the MWO Book who knows the answer...

If you say '1958 Seamaster', you have to post a pic.

I'll be over in a bit @dougiedude, no need to prepare. I like my scotch neat.

Well, MWO says both radium and tritium on the A5 dial, which was on the earlier .002s. For what it's worth. OP example looks like the A5 (assuming that's what was being referred to wrt the lume) so it seems it could be radium. No idea of the numbers of each though.

Edit: It does make sense though that if tritium and .002 were late versions of the dial, none were radium.

Funny, I just read on page 72 that the last reference with radium was the 2998-4. Where does it say some 002's had radium?

That's probably more definitive. I was just seeing that a dial which was on some .002s (A5) was sometimes radium.

OK, I think you inferred it from the A5 dial page? I guess pg. 72 debunks the 002 radium idea, so only the 2998-3's and 2998-4's had it.

The lumes on the hands look quite green. Are they also Radium?
You're right, they do look rather green...I thought I remembered a count from that dial... I'll double check...😜...

Sweep second is new. It glows, bright. The others, not so much (like not at all).

Now, before we rip this one apart, please let me bask until the end of the weekend.

Nah, I wouldn't mind that sencond hand considering the whole watch.
That post of mine was refering to the hands on Dougiedude's watch.

deceptive green lume[emoji79]on my 58 SM!
There seem to be some lume spots on the hour markers so you may need to take the hands off if you care to bother.😀
