In a classic case of men being idiots, I said to my wife how much I liked that last Connie, and how I regret not really going after it. She said.....

    "Why didn't you?"

In other words, if I has had the ball to raise it with her before, I could have really gone after it. Anyway, I am now officially in the hunt for a gold pie pan:
    - prefer no date
    - either gold dial with onyx markers or arrow head markers (not necessarily gold dial for arrow head)
    - prefer pink gold, but yellow would be fine

    So, here I come!!!!!
Please let me know if you see anything appropriate!

Thank God, you are gifted with such a lovely and caring better-half.

I hope, better luck for you the next time around. You will surely get your dream watch, sooner or later. Patience pays.

    Thank-you.

    AND

If she's ok with $3K, you can get away with spending $5K.

AND If you can get away with spending $5K, you can spend $7K and TELL HER it was $5K.

Your are a very lucky man. Now you can get two vintage Omega watches, one for her and another for yourself.

    Thank-you.

Haha, I think even I would shy away from $7k, but $4k would be manageable..... Just!

    And

She will surely value your judgement, I think. Try to work as a team, so that both parties will finally benefit.

    Thank-you.

I like the first one better. The medallion on the 2nd one is a bit polished.[/quote]

First one is also a bit more polished than I'd like. That's the special challenge with gold cases - softer case more likely to be scratched and dinged up so more likely to be polished (and sometimes overpolished). A full service typically included a case polish so it is more difficult to find one that has either never been polished or only lightly so.

My wife told me last night that I can sell my motorcycle and use some of that money for a watch. This from the woman who helps herself to two of my Hamiltons and my brand new bumper to wear to work...
