I purchased this 1947 automatic after researching the seller but now re-looking at the pictures I think I might have been duped Just wondering if anyone can confirm... Thank you

Modern watch guy, with a developing interest in vintage, so pardon my ignorance. I've got over 1000 posts at WUS and I sometimes ask dumb questions there too. My view is you are never too experienced or old to ask questions, nor to make polite responses to those that do. Edit: I'm now fascinated to know what your post said before you edited it.
Sorry what? 2,267+ posts, what have you been reading? On a 351 the springs are hidden under the hammer bridge, not exposed like a 350 which is probably what you were thinking of.
Yes. Open springs were on 330, 331, 340, 341, 350. Hidden springs were on 332, 333, 342, 343, 344,351, 352, 353, 354, 355.
Hi @arcadelt I have to agree with you , there are dumb questions... But what is worse asking the dumb question or wanting too and not posting for "fear of backlash "..and not getting answer.... I would not spend any energy on others off point comment... Does not ad value to the conversation .... Have a great evening Bill
If I recall the springs are kind of tuck in under that bridge and the the tapered part of the oscillating rotor slides under. I just worked on a 354 a few months ago and i don't think they were visible. It looks like there is some makeshift movement clamp there. There is something by the lower right lug or upper left in the picture- it kind of looks like a makeshift spring.
