I hate when I see someone selling a watch I once owned...

I have a friend who's a very well-known actor who has seen that happen to a couple vehicles he sold. All of a sudden they are being offered as either in a movie or some other very questionable provenance based on his ownership/fame.

I really never have understood the premium price people are willing to pay for something that a famous person owned.... I mean it's not like you're going to suddenly get access to some special exclusive restaurant or entry into some cool kids club. The McQueen stuff in particular just never makes sense to me but I also don't hold him in very high regard, sounds like he was a pretty miserable person to be around.

I sold a watch to an acquaintance for a very fair price ( friend price ) who then turned around and sold the watch for a substantial profit.

Permanent fact having it's place from local - to global marketplaces. You sold a watch to a beginner watch enthusiast and in an hour it pops up on eBay 😲
